To commemorate August 9 as International Day of the World's Indigenous People, Scotiabank announced the creation of Scotia Aboriginal Network in support of Scotiabank's commitment to provide an inclusive and accessible workplace for all its employees.

This employee resource group — comprised of Aboriginal employees and their colleagues—provides an interactive forum for those who are passionate about the attraction and retention of Aboriginal peoples within the Bank and the community, and is just one of the many ways Scotiabank creates an inclusive culture.

Scotiabank has long been a supporter of the Aboriginal community and has many partnerships, sponsorships and initiatives in place that promote training, recruitment, education and leadership.
